After unlocking, players can access the Inferno Reap challenge through the Hollow Zero main menu.

2.1.
Inferno Reap Menu

In the Inferno Reap menu, players can view the following information:

  • Time Trial Challenge Rules
  • Key Enemy Information on Nineveh
  • Resonium Kit(s) Available
  • Primer Missions and Rewards

To review previous Inferno Reap runs, players can access the details through the Challenge Records in the Hollow Zero main menu. Additional details regarding Inferno Reap can be reviewed through the Event Rules or the Hollow Notebook.

2.2.

Resonium Kits

Resonium Kit Menu

In order to complete the Inferno Reap challenge, players must use a Resonium Kit, which is a collection of Resonia obtained through the "Withering Garden - Core" operation in Hollow Zero. By using a Resonium Kit, Players will be able to significantly increase their chances of successfully suppressing (or defeating) Nineveh. Whenever you complete a "Withering Garden - Core" operation, the collected Resonia for that operation specifically will be made into a Resonium Kit available for the Inferno Reap.

Each Resonium Kit can be renamed and favourited, and players can only equip 1 Resonium Kit at a time. Players can save a maximum of 15 Resonium Kits to use; afterwards, if you would like to add a new Resonium Kit to your arsenal, it will replace a previously saved Resonium Kit.

Please note: if players want to improve their current Resonium Kit, they must complete a new "Withering Garden - Core" operation and re-gather the Resonia while progressing. Ending the operation early or incompletion will not provide a new Resonium Kit.

2.2.1.

Resonium Kit Restrictions

Kit Restrictions

For this Time Trial Challenge, players are not allowed to use the following Resonia in their Resonium Kits:

  • Hollow Resonia
  • Affinity Resonia
  • Deployed Bangboo Resonia

Any applicable Resonia gathered in a run of "Withering Garden - Core" will be discarded when saving the Resonium Kit for later use.

How to Unlock Inferno Reap in Zenless Zone Zero

How to Start Unlock Commission: Foliage Hunt

To begin unlocking Inferno Reap, players must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Minimum Inter-Knot Lv.42
  • Completed the "Withering Garden - Core" Challenge in Hollow Zero

Players must have a Lv.42 Inter-Knot account to unlock and complete the "Abandoned Skyscraper - Core," which is one of the pre-requisite requirements for unlocking the "Withering Garden - Core" operation.

After completing the above criteria, you will receive a commission called "Foliage Hunt," which is categorized as part of the Hollow Zero commission series. To progress, players must travel to Scott Outpost - Interior and speak with Ray and Roland, who will explain the commission details.

Check out the next section on the "Foliage Hunt" commission to continue unlocking Inferno Reap!

Players are recommended to have a squad with an average level of 55. Agents and Bangboo below the recommended level may struggle with completing the commissions for Inferno Reap.

Once players have completed the pre-requisite criteria, you will receive the "Foliage Hunt" Hollow Zero commission from Ray, who is located in Scott Outpost - Interior. Players can access the Scott Outpost from the Travel menu shortcut or from using the Business Car in other locations.

How to Play Inferno Reap

What to Prepare Gameplay Features

To prepare for Infernal Reap, whether it is your first time doing the Time Trial Challenge, or your last time for the final primer mission rewards, feel free to use the checklist below to help you successfully combat Nineveh and earn all the rewards available!

4.1.

What do I need for Inferno Reap?

Squad Make sure your Agents and Bangboo are at the Recommended Level of 60! Underlevelled or undergeared squads may experience difficulty with reaching better scores, or completing the Inferno Reap missions. Upgrading your Agents' skills and equipment can make a significant improvement while fighting against Nineveh. Try to form a squad that works well together!
Noodles The Food Buff received from eating at General Chop's Noodle Shop can be used for completing the Challenge, which can help increase your squad's HP and/or Damage dealt to Nineveh! In addition to other noodle choices, players can also use the Bone Broth Noodles, as Nineveh is considered a Boss enemy. The Noodle Shop can be found either on Sixth Street or in Lumina Square.
Combat Configuration Certain unlockable nodes can provide extra help, such as the Boss Tactical Strategy nodes. The Combat Configuration interface can be accessed through the Hollow Zero menu, and nodes are unlocked progressively using materials found from several Hollow Zero operation zones.
Resonium Kit You can review and select the Resonium Kit from the saved options within the Inferno Reap menu. If you are not happy with the selection available, you can always try to make a better Resonium Kit by completing another run of the "Withering Garden - Core" operation. Please see the Key Features section for more information on Resonium Kits!
Nineveh Combat Practice The fastest way to perfect combat against Nineveh is to fight her often! Players can practice by fighting her in the "Withering Garden - Core" operation in Hollow Zero; through the "Foliage Hunt" Combat Commission, which is available in Chapter 3 of the HDD System; or directly through this very Time Trial Challenge, Inferno Reap.

The player's goal in Inferno Reap is to deal as much damage as possible to Nineveh before the time runs out. While in combat, there are three primary gameplay features to keep in mind:

  • Challenge Missions
  • Time Limit and Extensions
  • Overload Activation
4.2.

Challenge Missions

Challenge Missions

When beginning the Time Trial Challenge, players will be able to briefly review the Challenge Targets required to reach certain completion scores. These Challenge Targets reset every time you begin an Inferno Reap challenge.

  • For a score of C, complete the challenge with below 5,000,000 damage dealt (No Targets Met).
  • For a score of B, complete the challenge with at least 5,000,000 damage dealt (One Target Met).
  • For a score of A, complete the challenge with at least 10,000,000 damage dealt (Two Targets Met).
  • For a score of S, complete the challenge with at least 15,000,000 damage dealt (All Targets Met).

While in combat, Fairy will update the player on how much damage has been dealt so far. You can also check the damage progress by reviewing Nineveh's health bar on the screen, or through the Commission Details in the Pause menu.

Regardless of the Challenge Targets, there are no rewards per challenge completed. However, completing certain Challenge Targets or objectives may fulfill missions for Inferno Reap. Please see the Rewards section for more information.

4.3.

Time Limit and Extensions

Players will have a minimum time limit of three minutes (3:00) to complete the Time Trial Challenge. This time limit will begin counting down after Nineveh is ready for combat.

Players can also extend the time limit by defeating enemies in combat. After accumulating a certain amount of Ether activity, Nineveh will re-enter her activation cycle, generating more enemies on the field:

Defeating the Constricting Vines will increase the time limit by 1 second each.

Constricting Vines

Defeating the Hornets will increase the time limit by 3 seconds each. These Hornets can strike at any time during the challenge.

4.4.

Overload Activation

During the challenge, Nineveh will enter several phases of Overload Activation. In each phase, she will both deal and receive more damage. The Overload Activation will progressively increase in strength over time, and each phase can be prolonged by defeating Hornets or Constricting Vines.

At the start of combat, Nineveh will not have any Overload Activation. She will deal and take the base amount of damage.

At 2 minutes remaining, Nineveh will reach 30% Overload Activation, meaning she will both deal and take 30% more damage.

30% Overload Activation

At 1 minute remaining, Nineveh will reach 60% Overload Activation, meaning she will both deal and take 60% more damage.

60% Overload Activation

In the last 30 seconds of the challenge, Nineveh will reach 90% Overload Activation, meaning she will both deal and take 90% more damage.

Inferno Reap Rewards

IR Rewards

You will only receive rewards for Inferno Reap when a Primer Mission has been fulfilled. Knives Out and Forged in Battle missions are cumulative, so players can complete them progressively over several challenges; whereas Bullets to Petals missions are independently based on damage dealt per run.

Unique rewards exclusive to Inferno Reap are the Lost Items, which can be obtained through completing certain Primer Missions. Players can review them in the Lost Items from the Old Capital and Outpost Primer categories in Ray's Research Log.

In addition to the Primer Mission rewards, players can also access other Inferno Reap rewards through Ray's Research Progress, who is inside the tent at Scott Outpost - Interior.
