Shiyu Defense Guide and Overview for Ambush Nodes in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ)
Struggling with a Shiyu Defense Ambush Node? Check out our dedicated Shiyu Defense Ambush Node Guide for stage information, Agent recommendations, and more!
What is the Ambush Node in Shiyu Defense?
The Ambush Node of Shiyu Defense is a set of 5 stages that are only available for a limited time and grant one-time rewards for clearing them. Ambush Node stages focus on survivability, as the fewer of your Agents die, the more rewards you will be able to earn. You will be able to gain up to 600 Polychromes from this content, provided you manage to clear all 5 stages on S-Rank. Each stage has 3 sets of rewards that you can gain at B, A and S-Grades respectively.
Clearing any stage at any grade will unlock the next one for you, so don't fret if you do not manage to get an S-Grade immediately.
In this guide we will provide detailed information on each of the 5 stages, highlighting the weaknesses of the enemies in each stage, as well as potential team recommendations that might make your life a little easier in order to claim the mode's rewards.
Keep in mind that a well built character may perform better than others, even if it does not match the enemies weakness. Just make sure to not pit them against enemies that are resistant to their damage type.
How Long is Ambush Mode Available for?
Shiyu Defense Ambush mode is a limited time event for Shiyu Defense starting on September 25th and ending November 6th.
Ambush Node Stages
There are 5 stages in the Ambush Node section of the Shiyu Defense. Each stage has its own set of enemies, buffs and effects that boost your characters, as well as their own Challenge Target time-limits. Each of stage requires you to field 2 full teams, requiring 6 Agents and 2 Bangboos total. You cannot use the same Agent or Bangboo twice.
Ambush Node Stage Information
Disclaimer: While high DPS and killing your enemies quickly is important, the maximum rewards will only be available if you do not lose a single one of your Agents. Focusing on parrying and dodging by learning the enemy's attack patterns is critical to claiming all 600 Polychromes. As long as you dodge and parry correctly, you can complete all stages even with an underleveled team. The enemies in this mode hit incredibly hard, so beware, but all of their damage is avoidable if played perfectly.
