Introduction - Soldier 0 - Anby

Soldier 0 - Anby is an Electric Attack Agent in Zenless Zone Zero. Soldier 0 - Anby was the leader of the Silver Squad. This squad does not exist any more. While Anby is not considered a part of Obol Squad, she does work closely together with them.

If Nicole Asks, please cover for me.

Suiting up before the big battle. Hmm, a classic movie trope.

Burgers are truly a remarkable food — not just because I love them.

See? They've got a balanced mix of nutrients, a portable design, and endless creative combinations that all somehow work perfectly.

I'm convinced that burgers won't lose their value just because they can't go in a hot pot.

Or... could it be that burgers might actually taste amazing in a hot pot?

Soldier 0 - Anby's Best Mindscapes

Anby's M2 is very useful as it further increases her CRIT DMG and grants you Max Thunder Cry stacks upon using her ultimate. Her M4 is the second best Mindscape as it also ignores 12% of the enemies Electric RES. Her M6 is ok, but not worth the investment needed to get to it. She should already do considerable DMG at M0.

# Mindscape Description
M1 Static Charge When Soldier 0 - Anby uses an EX Special Attack to hit an enemy, it triggers the additional DMG from White Thunder 3 times. This effect does not consume any White Thunder stacks.
M2 Fail-Safe Protocol Soldier 0 - Anby's CRIT Rate increases by 12%. When she uses her Ultimate, she gains 6 stacks of Thunder's Cry (max 6 stacks). With Thunder's Cry, when using Special Attack: Azure Flash to hit an enemy with White Thunder, it will consume 1 stack of Thunder's Cry instead. Only 1 stack of Thunder's Cry will be consumed when a single use of a skill hits multiple enemies, and consuming Thunder's Cry will still activate the additional DMG from White Thunder.
M3 Past Glory Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
M4 Silver Reverb When hitting an enemy marked with Silver Star, Soldier 0 - Anby ignores 12% of the target's Electric RES.
M5 Director's Cut Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2
M6 Prequel Protagonist Upon triggering 6 instances of White Thunder's additional DMG, an electromagnetic vortex will be generated, dealing 1,000% of Soldier 0 - Anby's ATK as Electric DMG against the target and surrounding enemies. This DMG is considered Aftershock DMG.

How to Play Soldier 0 - Anby

Soldier 0 - Anby is a Main DPS. Anby requires a tonne of On-field time, but her build and mechanics are rather straight forward. If you are looking for an Electric Attack agent that is easy to play and will not require too much brainstorming or investment, Soldier 0 - Anby will be the perfect pick.

Soldier 0 - Anby received a buff in 2.3 that changes a few things in her kit:

  • Her third basic attack will now pull enemies together.
  • Her dodge counter now grants her the Silver Flash state for 10 seconds, allowing her to apply White Thunder Marks, her main damage source, far more consistently.
  • New Special Attack that triggers after stacking multiple instances of White Thunder damage. It automatically activates after its animation and unleashes a barrage of Electric Aftershock hits dealing massive DMG.
  • Team synergy has also been improved. Allies can now help charge her Mark gauge: if they deal Aftershock damage to a marked enemy, it boosts the mark's value (with a 5-second cooldown).
  • When a marked enemy is defeated, the mark now automatically transfers to the nearest target.
  • Both her Chain Attack and Ultimate have been reclassified as Aftershock damage. This means that they will benefit from all the bonuses that apply to Aftershock.

These changes give her more consistency, more damage, and better team Synergy!

Anby's gameplay is not very complicated. Her Basic, Dodge, Chain, and Assists are all very straight to the point. She basically repeatedly slashes enemies with Electric attacks. Holding her Basic attack will allow to slash through enemies up to 5 times rapidly. Her 3rd hit pulls in enemies, which can be really useful and helps deal more damage to groups. Her attacks are very fast, allowing for good mobility between enemies, or fast evading against bosses.

Anby deals Aftershock DMG. Aftershock is basically an additional attack that will trigger when certain conditions are met, and deal 1 extra instance of Electric. On top of that, other DMG types will also be considered as Aftershock DMG.

Basically you hit enemies with an additional Electric hit after certain attacks to deal even more damage.

Aftershock can trigger through multiple ways:

  • When your Special Attack hits an enemy.
  • When Anby's White Thunder damage triggers 3 times on the same enemy.
  • When Special Attack: Thunder Smite DMG is triggered: If EX Special Attack: Sundering Bolt or Special Attack: Azure Flash is currently being used, an Aftershock will trigger after the animation

You should not really have to think about it, as those aftershock attacks will trigger regularly while you attack.

Additionally, Soldier 0 - Anby also applies a special Mark on enemies through her Special Attack. This Mark is called Silver Star. Every stack of that Mark, will also apply a stack of White Thunder on the enemy. You can stack up to 3 White Thunder. When White Thunder is applied, you can press Anby's special attack again to consume one stack to trigger one Aftershock DMG.

Using her Ex Special attack will allow you to apply 3 stacks of White Thunder directly.

Marking enemies with Silver Star will also trigger Anby's Core Passive, which increases her damage dealt, and the CRIT DMG from Aftershock attacks. On top of that, when allies deal DMG to Marked enemies with their Aftershocks, it builds Silver Star charge on the enemy (5s cooldown).

One good thing also about Soldier 0 - Anby, is that her additional Ability requires you to have Stun or Support agents in your squad, and no other faction member, opening up the team possibilities. You will have to play her as the active character however, in order to trigger the increased DMG on Aftershock.

Basically all you have to know for Soldier 0 - Anby is:

  • Use the Special Attack to mark the enemies with Silver Star
  • Use her Ultimate when it is available. It also charges Silver Star.
  • Use her Ex Special Attack to apply 3 White Thunder stacks immediately.
  • Press Special Attack again to consume one stack and trigger Aftershock DMG.
  • Swap on other Aftershock allies to build up Silver Star and apply their buffs/DMG, then swap back to Anby and repeat.

For her Build, Soldier 0 - Anby's best W-Engine is her Severed Innocence signature S-Rank W-Engine. It is the Best-in-Slot option for Soldier 0 - Anby as it will give her a huge CRIT DMG boost, as well as increased Electric DMG. if you are looking to give Anby a good boost, her W-Engine is really 100% worth the investment.

Cordis Germina and Zanshin Herb Case are two good options for Anby's build with the CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG bonus, and the Electric DMG boost as well.

In order to give Soldier 0 - Anby the best build possible, you will need to farm for the Drive Disc set that released with her: Shadow Harmony. This set is specifically made for her as it increases the DMG of Aftershocks and Dash Attacks, and the 4-piece will further increase Anby's ATK % and CRIT Rate %

You have various options as 2-pieces, as any set that gives ATK%, CRIT Rate %, or CRIT DMG % will be a good choice for Anby's build.

6.1.

Bangboo Information

The best Bangboo option for Soldier 0 - Anby will highly depend on her teammates. If you play her with other Electric agents, PlugbooPlugboo if a good choice for example.

SnapSnap is also one of the best general options, even if you do not use the healing boost from double Stars of Lyra. His DMG boost is not negligible.

Support Bangboo such as KnightbooKnightboo, ExplorebooExploreboo, or AvocabooAvocaboo are always viable options as well.

7.

Team Comps and Synergy

Soldier 0 - Anby is a very good main DPS. She provides your squad with heavy Electric DMG and has the ability to buff herself extremely well. She is also very easy to use, but requires high field time. She will have to be paired with agents that are only being swapped in for a few seconds here and there.

7.1.

Soldier 0 - Anby and Astra Yao Teams

DPS Stun Support Bangboo
Soldier 0 - Anby Trigger Astra Yao Snap
Soldier 0 - Anby Caesar King Astra Yao Snap
Soldier 0 - Anby Lucy Astra Yao Snap

Astra Yao is the top support for Soldier 0 Anby for the time being. Her ability to heal, buff, and support you while being off-field is the perfect pair for Soldier Anby.

Trigger is your best Stun agent option however another good option is Pulchra who increases all Aftershock damage.

Alternatives include Nicole Demara, Caesar King for some defense and additional boosts, or even Lucy or base Anby.

7.2.

Soldier 0 - Anby Obol Squad

DPS Obol Obol/Support Bangboo
Soldier 0 - Anby Trigger Orphie & Magus Mercury
Soldier 0 - Anby Seed Trigger Mercury
Soldier 0 - Anby Orphie & Magus Astra Yao Snap

Despite not being directly part of the Obol Squad, Soldier 0 Anby does work pretty well with the Obol members, especially Trigger, Orphie, and Seed. Trigger is one of the best Stun Agent for Anby since she barely requires field time. If you play her with Seed, you will have to keep Seed mainly on-field however. Orphie provides with a nice ATK buff and deals additional Aftershock DMG off-field.

7.3.

Soldier 0 - Anby With Electric Agents

DPS Stun Support Bangboo
Soldier 0 - Anby Qingyi Caesar King
DPS Support Support Bangboo
Soldier 0 - Anby Alexandrina Sebastiane Caesar King
Seed Soldier 0 - Anby Trigger Mercury

Qingyi is one of the best Electric Stun Agents you can get. If you do not have her, you can use Alexandrina Sebastiane. Rina is a support agent but she will increase Anby's PEN ratio. Caesar King is a very good choice for any team: she provides buffs, shields, and debuffs enemies.

7.4.

Double Anby Teams

DPS Stun Support Bangboo
Soldier 0 - Anby Anby Demara Nicole Demara

This team is your go-to team if you just started the game or if you want a F2P squad. Despite both Anby's being the same person, you can still play them together. Base Anby Demara is a great option to stun, and Nicole is always a very good team mate for some support. She will be able to pack enemies together, allowing your Soldier Anby to slash through them more often. You can also use Seth Lowell or Lucy which are both good defense (for Seth) and support agents.
