Soldier 0 - Anby Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Soldier 0 - Anby build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Soldier 0 - Anby is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent with powerful Aftershock DMG and buffs for the whole squad when her SIlver Star Mark is active. In our guide, we will cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Soldier 0 - Anby, from building the best Drive Discs and W-Engines to important stat priorities and combos.

Soldier 0 - Anby's Best W-Engines

Listed below are Soldier 0 - Anby's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, what is best to build on your Soldier 0 - Anby can vary slightly depending on your team composition.

Severed Innocence
Tranquil Blossom
CRIT DMG is increased by 30/34.5/39/43.5/48%. When the equipper lands a hit with a Basic Attack, Special Attack, or Aftershock, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's CRIT DMG by an additional 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, stacking up to 3 times. The effect lasts for 30s, with each stack's duration calculated separately, and can only be triggered once per use of a skill. With all 3 stacks, the equipper's Electric DMG increases by 20/23/26/29/32%.
This is SAnby's signature W-Engine, and clearly the best choice for her. It is the Best-in-Slot option for SAnby's build as it will give a massive amount of CRIT DMG and increase her Electric DMG as well.
Cordis Germina
Sprouting Core
Increases CRIT Rate by 15/17/19/21/23%. When the equipper deals DMG with a Basic Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's Electric DMG by 12.5/14.5/16.5/18.5/20%, up to 2 stacks. Each stack lasts 40s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. Can trigger once per use of a skill. At 2 stacks, the wearer's Basic Attack and Ultimate DMG ignore 20/23/26/29/32% of enemy DEF.
Seed's signature W-Engine is the second best choice for SAnby since it does grant a large CRIT Rate bonus and increased Electric DMG.
Additional S-Rank W-Engines

-

On top of the listed options, SAnby can effectively utilise a very wide range of S-Rank W-Engines such as:
  • Heartstring Nocturne
  • Zanshin Herb Case
  • The Brimstone
  • Riot Suppressor Mark VI
Starlight Engine
Knight's Combo
Launching a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist increases the equipper's ATK by 12/13.8/15.6/17.4/19.2% for 12s.
Overall the best Free-to-Play option for SAnby, providing with a solid ATK bonus.
Additional A-Rank W-Engines

-

On top of the listed options, SAnby can also effectively utilise a very wide range of A-Rank W-Engines such as:
  • Marcato Desire
  • Gilded Blossom
  • Cannon Rotor

Best Drive Discs for Soldier 0 - Anby

Shadow Harmony
2-Piece Set: Electric DMG +10%
4-Piece Set: As long as an enemy in combat is Shocked, the equipper's ATK is increased by 28%.
Soldier 0 - Anby's best Drive Disc set is Shadow Harmony. This set is specifically made for her as it increases the DMG of Aftershocks and Dash Attacks, and the 4-piece will further increase Anby's ATK % and CRIT Rate %.

2-Piece Recommendations include:

  • Woodpecker Electro
  • Astral Voice
  • Thunder Metal
  • Branch & Blade Song
The 2-piece options are all viable. It mostly depends on the stats you are missing, or the best pieces you already have available.

Soldier 0 - Anby's Stat Priority

Disc 4: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Disc 5: Electric DMG % / ATK%
Disc 6: ATK %
Substats: CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG > ATK % > PEN = ATK

When building Soldier 0 - Anby, CRIT is his most important stat, and after that you can aim for ATK% and some Penetration.

Soldier 0 - Anby's Skill Priority

Skill Priority: > > > > >

Soldier 0 - Anby's most important skills to level are her Core Skill, Special, and Chain Attack/Ultimate.

How to Play Soldier 0 - Anby

Soldier 0 - Anby is a Main DPS. Anby requires a tonne of On-field time, but her build and mechanics are rather straight forward. If you are looking for an Electric Attack agent that is easy to play and will not require too much brainstorming or investment, Soldier 0 - Anby will be the perfect pick.

Soldier 0 - Anby received a buff in 2.3 that changes a few things in her kit:

  • Her third basic attack will now pull enemies together.
  • Her dodge counter now grants her the Silver Flash state for 10 seconds, allowing her to apply White Thunder Marks, her main damage source, far more consistently.
  • New Special Attack that triggers after stacking multiple instances of White Thunder damage. It automatically activates after its animation and unleashes a barrage of Electric Aftershock hits dealing massive DMG.
  • Team synergy has also been improved. Allies can now help charge her Mark gauge: if they deal Aftershock damage to a marked enemy, it boosts the mark's value (with a 5-second cooldown).
  • When a marked enemy is defeated, the mark now automatically transfers to the nearest target.
  • Both her Chain Attack and Ultimate have been reclassified as Aftershock damage. This means that they will benefit from all the bonuses that apply to Aftershock.

These changes give her more consistency, more damage, and better team Synergy!

Anby's gameplay is not very complicated. Her Basic, Dodge, Chain, and Assists are all very straight to the point. She basically repeatedly slashes enemies with Electric attacks. Holding her Basic attack will allow to slash through enemies up to 5 times rapidly. Her 3rd hit pulls in enemies, which can be really useful and helps deal more damage to groups. Her attacks are very fast, allowing for good mobility between enemies, or fast evading against bosses.

Anby deals Aftershock DMG. Aftershock is basically an additional attack that will trigger when certain conditions are met, and deal 1 extra instance of Electric. On top of that, other DMG types will also be considered as Aftershock DMG.

Basically you hit enemies with an additional Electric hit after certain attacks to deal even more damage.

Aftershock can trigger through multiple ways:

  • When your Special Attack hits an enemy.
  • When Anby's White Thunder damage triggers 3 times on the same enemy.
  • When Special Attack: Thunder Smite DMG is triggered: If EX Special Attack: Sundering Bolt or Special Attack: Azure Flash is currently being used, an Aftershock will trigger after the animation

You should not really have to think about it, as those aftershock attacks will trigger regularly while you attack.

Additionally, Soldier 0 - Anby also applies a special Mark on enemies through her Special Attack. This Mark is called Silver Star. Every stack of that Mark, will also apply a stack of White Thunder on the enemy. You can stack up to 3 White Thunder. When White Thunder is applied, you can press Anby's special attack again to consume one stack to trigger one Aftershock DMG.

Using her Ex Special attack will allow you to apply 3 stacks of White Thunder directly.

Marking enemies with Silver Star will also trigger Anby's Core Passive, which increases her damage dealt, and the CRIT DMG from Aftershock attacks. On top of that, when allies deal DMG to Marked enemies with their Aftershocks, it builds Silver Star charge on the enemy (5s cooldown).

One good thing also about Soldier 0 - Anby, is that her additional Ability requires you to have Stun or Support agents in your squad, and no other faction member, opening up the team possibilities. You will have to play her as the active character however, in order to trigger the increased DMG on Aftershock.

Soldier 0 - Anby's Rotation

Basically all you have to know for Soldier 0 - Anby is:

  • Use the Special Attack to mark the enemies with Silver Star
  • Use her Ultimate when it is available. It also charges Silver Star.
  • Use her Ex Special Attack to apply 3 White Thunder stacks immediately.
  • Press Special Attack again to consume one stack and trigger Aftershock DMG.
  • Swap on other Aftershock allies to build up Silver Star and apply their buffs/DMG, then swap back to Anby and repeat.

Soldier 0 - Anby's Best Mindscapes

Soldier 0 - Anby's Mindscapes are pretty good. Anby's M2 is very useful as it further increases her CRIT DMG and grants you Max Thunder Cry stacks upon using her ultimate. Her M4 is the second best Mindscape as it also ignores 12% of the enemies Electric RES. Her M6 is ok, but not worth the investment needed to get to it. She should already do considerable DMG at M0.
