How to Play Soukaku
The main mechanic for Soukaku is her Vortex stacks. These have a cap of 3 which are shown under her icon in the top left while on-field. Vortex stacks are consumed before or during Fly the Flag to grant buffs for both Soukaku that can be passed around to other members of your party.
You can gain Vortex in the following ways:
- 1 Stack when launching an EX Special Attack.
- 1 Stack from a Chain Attack.
- 3 Stacks from an Ultimate Attack.
- 15% chance of gaining a stack from Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks, Dodge Counters and Quick Assists with Experimental Charging Module (M2).
Launching Fly the Flag increases attack by 500 while consuming Vortex during Fly the Flag doubles the ATK increase to a staggering 1,000. This is then passed along to other members in your party when switching in. When consuming Vortex to activate Fly the Flag, the squad gains a 20% Ice DMG increase. Ultimately, this means Soukaku should be build with ATK to increase the buff she provides to other members of the team.

With a support build, Soukaku's best W-Engines focus on providing additional buffs to the team. Therefore, Bashful Demon which increases ATK for the entire squad is her best in slot. Kaboom the Cannon is another great option in a support build, providing an ATK increase however unlike Bashful, Kaboom does not provide an Ice DMG buff to Soukaku's personal DMG.
We recommend using Sing Jazz which is by far the best Disc Drive currently for Soukaku's build. For 2-Piece effects, Hormone Punk is going to be your best option. For main and substats, ATK % is by far the most important so that you can cap her ATK buff for the squad.
Bangboo Information
Soukaku's best Bangboo currently is Butler, this is because of the synergy Butler has with Ellen Joe and Von Lycaon and not Soukaku herself. Sharkboo is another great S-Rank option due to the Ice DMG and Anomaly they provide and is better suited for Lighter-based Ice teams.
Other alternatives include Bagboo and Penguinboo as A-Rank options.
Soukaku's Team Comps and Synergy
DPS | Stun | Support | Bangboo |
---|---|---|---|
Ellen Joe | Soukaku |
Soukaku is best used as a support for Ice Agents, this currently being Ellen Joe. The best Stun agents in this team are either Von Lycaon or Lighter. Other Stun Agents are viable but don't provide the same synergy.
DPS | Stun | Support | Bangboo |
---|---|---|---|
Ellen Joe | Soukaku | Penguinboo | |
DPS | Support | Support | Bangboo |
Ellen Joe | Caesar King | Soukaku | Penguinboo |
If you do not have Lycaon/Lighter, then your next best options are other stun characters such as Anby Demara, Qingyi and Koleda Belobog or even an ATK buffer such as Caesar King.
