Love is in the Air is the World of Warcraft counterpart of Valentine's Day.

The event itself takes place mostly outside of capital cities of both factions. Many rewards can be earned: mounts, gear, pets, achievements, a title, and vanity items.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to complete the event.

During the Love is in the Air event, you will mostly be doing daily quests and fighting the boss of the event. Doing so will earn you coins that you will use to buy rewards. There is also a short introductory quest line that you will want to do.

All the parts of the event are open to low-level players. However, you must be at least Level 60 to loot the X-45 Heartbreaker mount from your first daily dungeon run.

Love is in the Air is a 2-week event. This year, it will start on February 3 and finish on February 17.

While it is possible to earn all the rewards by diligently doing the daily quests every day, you can also farm the coins needed to buy the rewards, greatly speeding up the completion of the event.

• Love Witch's Sweeper (mount) has a chance to drop from Apothecary Hummel.
• Living Rose (pet) can be purchased for 40 Love Tokens from Kiera Torres (Alliance) and Lysian Mornigspear (Horde), located in Elwynn Forest and Durotar.
• Ensemble: Truly Heartfelt Shoulders (Cosmetic) can be purchased from the event vendors for 40 tokens.
• Love Tokens are now Warbound.
• A Gala of Gifts portal can now be found in Dornogal.

The event has been overhauled in 2024 with new rewards, quests, and other changes that we outline in the subsequent sections.

The Gala of Gifts (Love is in the Air) event hub, can be found just outside Orgrimmar and Stormwind. Here, you will find all the vendors and new daily quests that grant you Love Tokens.

A new portal called Scenic Gateway Portal can be found in all major cities. It will teleport you straight to the Gala of Gifts and other locations where you can complete daily quests for Love Tokens.

When you pick up a daily quest at the gala and click the portal, the location with currently active daily quests will be marked with purple Quest text next to it.

The flower vendors sell buffs for 5 Love Tokens that increase stats by 10%, but they do not work in dungeons and raids. They come with various flavor effects, but the same buff.

Renewed Proto-Drake: Love Armor is a Dragonriding manuscript that has a chance to drop from your first The Crown and Chemical Co. dungeon of the day.

Two new achievements were added.

Love Language Expert — Deliver a slew of gifts to Lovely Guests at the Steam Pools Resort.

Support Your Local Artisans — Donate 50,000 gold to the Artisan's Consortium to support the Gala of Gifts.

The currency of the event is Love Token. You will earn these coins by doing daily quests, killing the boss of the event, and more. This is Warbound.

The Love is in the Air event offers a variety of rewards, including three mounts, three pets, and many achievements.

Lovely Merchants can be found at the gala outside Stormwind and Orgrimmar, selling rewards for Love Tokens.

Lovely Merchants sell perfumes and colognes for 1 . Using these items will give you a temporary buff that stacks with flasks and does not drop when you enter a dungeon or raid.

In addition, the daily quests of your faction will reward you with Lovely Cards that will buff one of your statistics when you use them. These buffs stack with flasks and persist when you enter a dungeon or a raid.

A number of role-play clothes are available from the Lovely Merchants. They can be used for transmogrification purposes during the event.

• Lovely Dress Box costs 20 and has a chance to contain:

• Dinner Suit Box costs 20 and has a chance to contain:

From within the Dungeon tab, you can queue up for The Crown and Chemical Co. dungeon to defeat the boss for a chance at the following pieces of gear:

• Winking Eye of Love;
• Heartbreak Charm;
• Shard of Pirouetting Happiness;
• Sweet Perfume Broach;
• Choker of the Pure Heart.

Heirloom upgrades are sold by the event vendors: Ancient Heirloom Scabbard for 200 and Timeworn Heirloom Scabbard, Weathered Heirloom Scabbard, and Battle-Hardened Heirloom Scabbard for 450 .

Lovely Rose, Heartseeker Moth, Truesilver Shafted Arrow and Lovebird Hatchling can be bought from Lovely Merchants for 40 .

Toxic Wasteling has a chance to drop once a day from the boss of the event.

New in 2024, is the Heartseeker Mana Ray mount available for 270 Love Tokens.

Swift Lovebird can be bought from Lovely Merchants for 270 .

X-45 Heartbreaker has an extremely low chance to drop once a day from the boss of the event, if you are Level 50 or more.

The meta-achievement of the event is Fool for Love. It rewards the the Love Fool title, counts towards What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been, and requires you to complete most of the achievements related to the event:

• Fistful of Love;
• Sweet Tooth;
• Be Mine!;
• My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose;
• I Pitied The Fool.

Charming, Flirt With Disaster (Alliance / Horde); Nation of Adoration (Alliance / Horde), Lovely Luck Is On Your Side, Perma-Peddle, and Tough Love are also achievements from Love is in the Air, but they are not required for the meta-achievement.

The Love is in the Air event features a short quest line where you have to counter the plans of the Crown Chemical Company.

The event also gives you a number of daily quests that you can use to earn Love Tokens.

The quest line is straightforward and involves no complicated tasks, so we will only give the names of the quests and indicate where they start and where they end. Completing the quest line will grant you the Dangerous Love achievement.

For Alliance players, note that some characters related to the event may not be visible if you are on Call of Duty, the introductory quest for Vashj'ir.

The Alliance quest line will make you interact with 3 NPCs: Junior Inspector, located next to the bank in Ironforge, Inspector Snip Snagglebolt and Marion Sutton, both located in the Trade District of Stormwind City.

Note that the first quest is optional.

The Horde quest line will make you interact with 3 NPCs: Junior Detective, located near the Flight Master in Thunder Bluff, Detective Snap Snagglebolt, located near Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar, and Roka, located next to the Bag Vendor in Orgrimmar.

Note that the first quest is optional.

Every day, you can complete different daily quests for Love Tokens. Head to the Gala of Gifts and search for blue exclamation marks on your minimap to find the available daily quests. Additional daily quests can be completed in the areas accessed through the Scenic Gateway Portal.

You can pick them up at the NPC standing close to the Scenic Gateway Portal.

Lovely Charm Bracelets and the old faction daily quests have all been removed from the game with the event's overhaul.

The boss encounter of the event (located in Shadowfang Keep) can be accessed by queuing for it in the Dungeon Finder or by speaking to Steamwheedle Shyster, located in the Trade District of Stormwind City or near Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar.

The boss encounter consists in defeating Apothecary Hummel, Apothecary Baxter, and Apothecary Frye, whom your party will all face simultaneously. The fight is simple and only takes a few seconds to complete.

The first time that you defeat the boss encounter, you will be granted the Tough Love achievement and you will be able to loot a Faded Lovely Greeting Card from Hummel. This starts the Something is in the Air (and it Ain't Love) (Alliance / Horde) quest, which rewards some gold.

The first time that you defeat the boss encounter in a given day, you will be given a Heart-Shaped Box, which has a chance to contain:

• 10 Love Tokens;
• Renewed Proto-Drake: Love Armor (Drakewatcher Manuscript);
• Forever-Lovely Rose;
• Vile Fumigator's Mask;
• Toxic Wasteling;
• The Heartbreaker;
• X-45 Heartbreaker;
• Love Witch's Sweeper.

Every time you defeat the boss encounter, Apothecary Hummel will drop one of the following Neck items:

• Winking Eye of Love;
• Heartbreak Charm;
• Shard of Pirouetting Happiness;
• Sweet Perfume Broach;
• Choker of the Pure Heart.

The enemies have damaging spells that fit in one of two categories: Perfume (purple) or Cologne (green):

• Apothecary Hummel only has Perfume abilities;
• Apothecary Baxter only has Cologne abilities;
• Apothecary Frye has both Perfume and Cologne abilities.

Inside the area where you will be fighting, there are two cauldrons: Perfume Neutralizer makes you immune to Perfume attacks while Cologne Neutralizer makes you immune to Cologne attacks. Clicking a cauldron will create an item in your bags after a short cast time. Using this item is what gives you the immunity buff (which lasts 5 minutes).

With that in mind, the encounter is rather easy. Have one player take the Perfume Neutralizer and keep aggro on Hummel. Have another player take the Cologne Neutralizer and keep aggro on Baxter. The rest of the group can take either of the Neutralizers. By doing so, your group will only have to worry about moving out of the Perfume or Cologne void zones that Frye (who cannot be tanked) regularly puts down.

Ideally, you will want to kill Hummel and Baxter first and finish with Frye.

In this section, we will run you through the many remaining achievements needed to complete the event's meta-achievement in 2024.

To complete the Be Mine! achievement, you need to eat each of the 8 following candies:

• Heart Candy - Be mine!
• Heart Candy - I LOVE YOU
• Heart Candy - I'll follow you all around Azeroth.
• Heart Candy - All yours.
• Heart Candy - You're the best!
• Heart Candy - I'm all yours!
• Heart Candy - You're mine!
• Heart Candy - Hot lips.

These candies can be found in Bags of Heart Candies, which you can buy for 2 from a Lovely Merchant in any major city. You might need to buy several bags before you obtain all the cookies.

To obtain the Fistful of Love achievement, you need to buy 15 Handful of Rose Petals (you only need 11, but you can only buy these items 5 by 5). This will cost you 6 tokens. Then, use the items on the various combinations of class and race that the achievement demands.

For completing I Pitied The Fool, you first need to buy 5 Love Fools. Each Love Fool costs 10 , so it is a good idea to go with a group of friends to do the achievement, each friend bringing one or two Love Fools.

Then, simply go to each of the locations mentioned in the achievement text, put down a Love Fool, target it, and /pity it.

For completing Lonely?, you first need to obtain a Buttermilk Delight, which you can find in a Box of Chocolates. This box can be bought from a Lovely Merchant for 10 . You might also need to buy a Romantic Picnic Basket, which costs 10 and can be refunded if you manage not to use it.

Then, you need to go to Dalaran with a friend, or find one there. Sit at one of the Romantic Picnic sets or create one using your Romantic Picnic Basket. Wait for your character and that of your friend to be buffed with Romantic Picnic before eating your piece of Buttermilk Delight. Note that your friend only needs to sit down with you for you to get the achievement, they do not need to also eat a Buttermilk Delight, unless they want to get the achievement.

Completing Sweet Tooth requires you to eat each of the following candies: Buttermilk Delight, Sweet Surprise, Dark Desire, Very Berry Cream. Each of them has an 80% chance to be contained in a Box of Chocolates, which can be bought from a Lovely Merchant for 10 .

Note that from having done the Lonely?, you must already have completed the Buttermilk Delight objective and you probably also have obtained some of the other candies (if not all of them).

My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose requires you to obtain a Bouquet of Red Roses or a Bouquet of Ebon Roses. These drop from bosses in heroic WOTLK dungeons and from bosses in normal and heroic Cataclysm dungeons.

To complete the Shafted! achievement, spend 10 to buy 10 Silver Shafted Arrows from a Lovely Merchant. Then, use the arrows on 10 players that do not currently have a non-combat pet out.

To complete the The Rocket's Pink Glare achievement, you need to buy 10 Love Rockets from a Lovely Merchant, something that will cost you 10 . Then, fire them off as fast as you can (by right-clicking them in your bags).

There appear to be issues in crowded areas and with certain addons that prevent all the rockets from being counted towards the achievement. To avoid this, you can attempt to obtain the achievement in a deserted place, with your addons disabled.
