The Great Vault Guide

The Great Vault is a weekly chest that provides you with 1 piece of loot every week from a pool of up to 9 items.

Think of the Great Vault as a box you fill with items. The more activities you complete in the previous week, the more item choices you will unlock. However, you can only pick one item each week.

You can add more items to the weekly chest by defeating raid bosses, completing dungeons, and Delves / World Activities.

You can select one item from the Great Vault after the weekly maintenance in your region — on Tuesdays in North America and Wednesdays in Europe.

The War Within Season 2 further enhances the gear upgrading system introduced in Patch 10.1. The item level brackets for this season and the corresponding gear upgrade tracks are as follows:

• Explorer Gear — Item Level 597-619;
• Adventurer Gear — Item Level 610-632;
• Veteran Gear — Item Level 623-645;
• Champion Gear — Item Level 636-658;
• Hero Gear — Item Level 649-665;
• Myth Gear — Item Level 662-678.

You can find the Great Vault in Dornogal. The exact location will be marked on the map with an icon.

You will find the Great Vault just behind the bank room. Here is what it looks like in the War Within expansion.

The Great Vault has 9 slots. The more slots you unlock, the more options you will have when choosing your weekly reward.

The weekly chest is divided into three categories — Raids, Dungeons, and World. The PvP category has been removed in the War Within.

The item level of rewards in this category depends on raid difficulty. To unlock all three item choices, you need to:

• Defeat 2 Liberation of Undermine bosses.
• Defeat 4 Liberation of Undermine bosses.
• Defeat 6 Liberation of Undermine bosses.

Defeating a later boss gives you a chance to earn loot from all the earlier bosses as well. For example, if you are only invited to defeat Chrome King Gallywix, you will still make 1/9 progress toward your weekly vault. Plus, loot from the entire raid will now be available in your vault pool for the raid slots.

Finish a Heroic or Mythic max-level dungeon to unlock a reward in the Great Vault for this category. Timewalking Dungeons also count as Heroic. The item level of your reward will be determined by your highest run of the week.

To unlock all three item choices, you need to:

• Complete 1 Heroic, Mythic, or Timewalking Dungeon.
• Complete 4 Heroic, Mythic, or Timewalking Dungeons.
• Complete 8 Heroic, Mythic, or Timewalking Dungeons.

Complete Delves or world activities to unlock Great Vault rewards in this category. Word activities are considered Tier 1 Delves. The item level of your reward will depend on your highest Tier Delve run of the week. To unlock Hero-track gear, you must complete 8 Tier 8 delves per week.

• Complete 2 Delves or world activities.
• Complete 4 Delves or world activities.
• Complete 8 Delves or world activities.

If you do not select any loot from the Great Vault, you will instead the Algari Token of Merit currency, based on the number of slots you have unlocked for that week:

• 2 Algari Token of Merit for 1 Great Vault slot.
• 4 Algari Token of Merit for 2 Great Vault slots.
• 6 Algari Token of Merit for 3+ Great Vault slots.

Algari Token of Merit can be exchanged at Ardgaz, standing near the Great Vault for the following items:

• Chest of Gold — Contains 1,000 gold. Costs 1 Algari Token of Merit.
• Golden Valorstone — Contains 75 Valorstones. Costs 1 Algari Token of Merit.
• Triumphant Satchel of Carved Undermine Crests — Contains 15 Carved Undermine Crests. Costs 1 Algari Token of Merit.
• Celebratory Pack of Runed Undermine Crests — Contains 15 Runed Undermine Crests. Costs 2 Algari Token of Merit.
• S.A.D. — Adds a socket to a The War Within Season 2 item that does not already have one. Can be used on Helms, Bracers, or Belts. Costs 6 Algari Token of Merit.
