Retribution Paladin PvP Guide — The War Within (11.1.0)
General Information
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to play Retribution Paladin in a PvP environment. The guide will cover everything from talent choices, PvP talents, gameplay and rotation, and useful racial bonuses. It is most applicable to Arena content, but most talents and racial bonuses will work in Rated Battlegrounds and skirmishes.

Retribution Paladins in the Current Meta
Retribution Paladin is currently a solid melee/ranged hybrid specialization
that can excel in both Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz. It is in a unique
place where both Hero talent specializations have seen significant play in each
bracket. Retribution remains one of the worst DPS in 2v2 arena as it has no
Mortal Wounds and below average damage compared to other classes with
Mortal Wounds. Retribution has a few comps that are are fairly good in
3v3 arena.

Retribution Paladin Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Strong burst damage- Great consistent and cleave damage
- Multiple ways to support teammates via blessing spells
- Nearly the entire damage kit can be done from mid-range
Weaknesses
Limited mobility- Target of choice for most teams
- No
Mortal Wounds effect limits compositions

Notable 11.1 Changes
- 5% Overall damage increase.
- 30% Nerf on
Empyrean Hammer - Procs of
Dawnlight and Empyrean Hammer will now prioritize
players over pets and minions. -
Greater Judgment applied through 
Hammer of Light will now be
consumed by Hammer of Light. -
Divine Hammer slightly reworked into a 3 holy power spender. - 50% nerf on
Seal of the Crusader and 
Healing Hands no longer
buffs 
Word of Glory on other players. -
Sun's Avatar, 
Second Sunrise, and 
Final Reckoning
are all receiving significant buffs. -
Luminescence has been reworked and 
Aura of Reckoning has
been removed.
