Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Windwalker Monk in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose your gear and your trinkets.

This page is part of our Windwalker Monk PvP Guide.

1.

Stat Priority for Windwalker Monks in PvP

The stat priority for Windwalker Monk in PvP is as follows:

  1. Agility;
  2. Versatility;
  3. Mastery;
  4. Haste;
  5. Critical Strike.

Agility is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to increasing your damage and reducing the amount of damage you take. You should also try to focus on getting Mastery. This increases the damage you deal when you do not repeat the previous ability (Mastery: Combo Strikes Icon Mastery: Combo Strikes).

Gear Recommendations

2.1.

General Guidelines

In general, Windwalker Monks want to get trinkets that line up well with Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger Icon Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases your overall damage. It is also handy for increasing your healing when you need to use Vivify Icon Vivify to stay alive. Here is the best gear we recommend you use as a Windwalker Monk.

  • Head: Algari Competitor's Leather Mask Icon Algari Competitor's Leather Mask - Crafted with Versatility & Haste

2.2.

Windwalker Monk Tier Set

As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Windwalker Monks, this is your tier set:

  • 2-set: Tiger Palm Icon Tiger Palm increases the damage of your next melee ability by 2.5%.
  • 4-set: Your other melee abilities increase the damage of your next Tiger Palm Icon Tiger Palm by 12.5%, stacking up to 6 times. 15% of Tiger Palm's damage is deal onto nearby enemies.

4-set is not required for Windwalker Monks, but getting 2-set is recommended.

2.3.

Windwalker Monk Embellishments

Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These effects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Windwalker Monk:

  • Ascendance Icon Ascendance/Writhing Armor Banding Icon Writhing Armor Banding. While in combat, Ascendance Icon Ascendance grants 89 of a random secondary stat, stacking up to 10 times. Writhing Armor Banding Icon Writhing Armor Banding doubles this affect. This combination of Embellishments is the best for Windwalker Monk. Ascendance can only be crafted on a weapon.
  • Duskthread Lining Icon Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health. This can be used if you do not want to double the affect of Ascendance Icon Ascendance with Writhing Armor Banding Icon Writhing Armor Banding.
